solo dinner date review

The Snail, Greenpoint— I ordered escargot and a vodka martini just a little bit dirty. I’m sitting at the bar next to a woman who is also here alone reading a book. I have my book in my bag, but this doesn’t feel like the right vibe match for demon copperhead. I would love to come here late night, the vibes are very good and kinda sexy. The escargot came with a shell holder that I tried to use but got embarrassed because the shells kept slipping.

Escargot very good. Not too heavy on butter. I haven’t had many escargot before but this one is good, I feel like it’s usually richer like more buttery sauce. Also the bread is from nick and sons which is right down the street so I love that.

Good music which there seems to be a focus on. Lots of cool big speakers and this giant thing that must be a record player but looks like the old movie theater machines that would roll film.

I got the mushroom pasta and DAMN holy crap. I don’t know what was in it besides mushrooms and some whipped cheese and it tasted a little like honey at the end of each bite lol. Rich but still light and fluffy in texture! Amazing ratio of healthy slices of cheese (Parmesan?) to little dumplings.

4.7/5 across the board— ambiance/vibe, music, service, FOOD and drink. Not cheap, go for a treat. I would like to try their brunch.
